Las Vegas Casino Gambling – Tourism, $4 Gallon Gas and Real Estate Market

Not long ago, I sent an email to a friend of mine living in Las Vegas and as you might have guessed the real estate market there has definitely seen better days. Of course, just one channel surfing 10-minute excursion of your television set will demonstrate that harsh reality and speak to the most unfortunate decline in consumer confidence. In fact, Alan Greenspan stated yesterday that this current economic turbulence was the worst since WWII.

So with all that known, what could I say in an email to my friend in Las Vegas except; “Hope all is well in Las Vegas?” he responded with his worrisome acknowledgment of the local economy and the rising inflation costs, including worst of all; gasoline. So, I said;

I see tourism is doing okay due to the devalued dollar, although, I wonder if fewer folks are going to be making the drive out from California with $4.00 gasoline prices, ouch! Just filled up the RV, $633 later, boy oh boy, outrageous indeed.

The cascading or domino falling effect that was predicted due to the subprime lending housing crisis, and with high oil prices, at $110 per barrel, is taking out economic sector after economic sector. We are now showing very poor retail sales, service sector down, construction, housing, auto, restaurant, airlines, etc, etc. Things, well they are not so good, but in Las Vegas tourism has been steady, thanks to foreign visits with their currency stronger than the dollar.

Still, a good bit of Las Vegas’ tourism does come from California and with fuel prices at $4.00 per gallon that puts Las Vegas in a tough situation moving into the Spring and Summer tourist season. Something to think on.

Las Vegas is the home of seven of these shows which perform daily at the hotels Treasure Island, Bellagio, New York-New York, MGM, Mirage, Luxor and Aria.

Every Cirque du Soleil show is different and leaves the audience amazed. Here is a brief synopsis of what you can expect:

Mystere-Playing for over 16 years is a high energy acrobatic show that is whimsical, dramatic and full of imagination. Mystere is playing at Treasure Island hotel.

“O”- A surreal, aquatic show featuring synchronized swimmers, aerial acrobatics, and theatrical romance Try and see an early show since it can put you into a relaxed mode. “O” is featured at the Bellagio Hotel.

Zumanity-This adult based show has resulted in many mixed reviews. It portrays sexual entertainment that might be too provocative for some. It is very interactive and amusing but there is no storyline to follow and the acrobatics are not portrayed as greatly as some Cirque du Soleil shows. If you are open minded and can admire the human body in this art form you should enjoy it. Zumanity is featured at New York-New York hotel.

KA-This show focuses around a brother and sister who get separated in a War. They go through many adventures along the way until they are finally reunited again. If the lack of acrobatic performance disappoints you,be prepared to be amazed by the mechanics of the stage alone. KA is featured at MGM Grand.

The Beatles-Love-Experience the celebration of the legendary Beatles in this creative performance of music, special effects and acrobatics. This show is mostly comprised of music and costumes more than acrobatic ability. This show is featured at Mirage.

Criss Angel-Believe-It really cannot be compared with Cirque du Soleil flair and must be focused on from a viewpoint of mystery and illusion that magic shows are known for. You can see Criss Angel perform at the Luxor.

Viva Elvis-For Cirque du Soleil enthusiasts this show is more about a tribute to the life and music of Elvis Presley with dancing, singing and some acrobatics. More like a musical. It can be seen at Aria Resort and Casino.

People have a certain image of what they expect a Cirque du Soleil show to be, and some of the shows listed here might not live up to their expectations. Check out many reviews and form your own opinion. You just might like what others don’t.

How to Find Casino Poker Chips For Sale Online

In this guide, you will be introduced to how to find casino poker chips for sale online. There are many online stores that specialize in selling poker chips and other gaming supplies, but not all of them have the quality and variety that is important to have when making online purchases. Here, I will introduce some methods that you should use in order to know that you are purchasing from a reputable company that offers variety, quality, and the best prices!

Step 1:

When looking for casino poker chips for sale online, it is important to know that you are dealing with a legitimate company that offers the products that that they promise. One of the best ways that you can do this is to review the testimonials that are provided by the customers that have purchased from that website in the past. When reviewing the testimonials, it is important to ensure that you look to see what they have to say about the quality of the products that they purchased, the prices compared to other websites, and the level of customer service that they experienced.

Step 2:

The next thing that you will want to pay attention to is the type of contact that can be made with the company that you are considering. Many companies will only list an email address, a telephone number, or just a P.O Box address. It is important to select a company that offers more than one means of communication. It is ideal to purchase from a company that has a valid numeric address, email address, fax number, and phone number. It is also a great idea to check to see if the website offers an online chat option. If you find this, it is likely that you are dealing with a reputable online poker store.

Step 3:

The next thing that you want to look for when looking to online stores where casino poker chips for sale are offered are any and all discounts, possibly even a “lowest prices” guarantee. This will indicate to you that you are getting the absolute best deals for your money. In today’s economy, people are no longer looking to “keep up with the Jones’”; they are looking to snatch the best bargains on the market.

Why should you be any different? There are online websites that offer quality at a price that is affordable when it comes to poker accessories and supplies. An example is “Poker Stars Direct”. If you take a look at the website, you will see that this is a great example of where to purchase from. They offer both discounts in their everyday prices, as well as a “lowest prices” guarantee!

Step 4:

When seeking casino poker chips for sale, it is important to locate a website that has a shipping and returns policy if, for some reason, you are unhappy with what you purchased. Do not go for those “small print” places that are very vague when it comes to shipping prices and returns on the products that they offer. You may find that they are cheap as far as product prices, but that their shipping prices are outrageous. You also want to ensure that they provide you with the option to return your merchandise with very few conditions.

Step 5:

Now that you know what to look for in an online website that specializes in casino poker chips, it is likely that you will be able to find a store that is ideal for you! The last step is to ensure that they have a secure server where you make your purchase. This will help to protect your personal and financial information. Family Portraits in Las Vegas Without the Las Vegas Strip As a Backdrop Or Using Large Chain Studios

Many local families in Las Vegas, NV have a desire to have family portraits taken without taking there children down to the strip or downtown. These areas are not very children friendly. The other main draw back on locations is some families do not want their pictures The desert is everywhere in Southern Nevada and after a while you can get sick of always seeing it every day. The last thing you would want is a family portrait with a desert backdrop on your mantle.

Eliminating those locations your options are studios with a wide choose of backdrops or an on location photographer. Studios are fantastic if that is what you are looking for. Be careful when it comes to chain studios. It is the luck of the draw with the who is working that day. When you look at the portfolio on a chains website or the photos with in the studio you never know which employee took those pictures. It is better to look for professionals that have their own studio or better yet those that have a mobile studio.

The benefit of using a pro is you know the work you see is theirs. Because you can see their work on their own website or blog. Each photographer has their own style so look at their work and see if their style is what you are looking for with your memories.

A few places to consider when choosing an on location professional are: Lake Las Vegas, Floyd Lamb State Park, Lake Mead, The Clark County Heritage Museum, Calico Basin, Red Rock, your own backyard and many more locations that they should be familiar with. If you are visiting town you can even have your professional come to your hotel and take photographs inside the hotel.

Tips for Taking a Las Vegas Vacation

People associate a lot of different things to a Las Vegas vacation. Some people may picture a booze and gambling-filled party, while some may imagine a nice vacation away from home with the kids when they think about a trip to Sin City. In the late 60s and early 70s, the Las Vegas vacation industry really flourished. This is largely due to the efforts to reinvent the image of Las Vegas into a playground for adults.

The Las Vegas of that period was full of glitzy casinos, extravagant shows, and bars that were open night and day. You could catch a show, gamble all night, throw back a whiskey sour with breakfast at 8am and go to sleep for a few hours before doing it all over again in a Las Vegas vacation during those years.

The nature of a Las Vegas vacation became something completely different in the early 90s. Las Vegas casinos began to attract families who were traveling together to compete with the introduction of attractions like New York New York’s roller coaster and MGM Grand’s child-friendly environment.

Casino owners realized they could attract the all-night gamblers and high rollers while catering to a completely new crowd, the families, who brought their own money to play in the Las Vegas sands. As a result, kid-friendly shows, restaurants, and attractions began to pop up. Many casinos also offered child play areas so mom and dad could still go off to drink and gamble.

The present Las Vegas vacation represents an odd hybrid between the adult and child’s playground. Visitors can now observe roller coasters rumble over casino floors where slot machines ping and whiz and roulette wheels clatter. These days, advertisements for escort agencies litter the sidewalks and ads for topless shows are displayed on taxi cabs next to ads for Sponge Bob Square Pants because of the legalization of prostitution in Vegas.

The adult-playground feeling still persists, although the strip has reinvented its image as a family-friendly location. There are still more high-end restaurants and nightclubs than just about any other small area in the U.S., and money and champagne still flow freely in this city.

The Las Vegas environment is a little tougher for teenagers, although adults and young children alike can enjoy a Las Vegas vacation. The majority of the adult-orientated attractions are off-limits to teenagers because those under 21 can’t drink, nor gamble in Las Vegas. Vacationing in Vegas may entice older teens to try out more adult forms of entertainment so you should find another vacation destination if you’re a family with a few teenagers.

First, let’s talk about the old classic game poker. There are different ways to play poker, but one of the most popular ways is Texas Hold’em. This version of poker involves players being dealt two cards each while five more cards are placed in the center of the table. Throughout the dealing players can make bets according to how good they think their hands are. They create hands using their two cards, and then three cards of their choice from the table. When all of the cards have been dealt, the person who has the best hand gets all of the money that had been bet.

Another game that people love playing in Las Vegas is Black Jack. In this game each player is dealt two cards. They add the numbers on their cards (face cards count for 10 points, aces can be 11 or 1). The goal is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over. You can keep on asking for cards by saying, “hit me.” The dealer will then hand you another card. People like this game because it has a higher win probability than some of the other games.

One of the most classic games that are in most casinos is slot machines. These are very easy to use. All you have to do is put a token into the machine and then pull a lever. The machine will spin three things around. These things will stop, and if they all have the same picture, then you win money. This game can be very addicting because it doesn’t require much thought, and the action is very easy.

These are just a few examples of ways to gamble. There are many other ways to gamble all over the world. If you are going to go to Las Vegas, then you should know about these games. If they sound interesting to you, make sure you realize that you will probably lose. Make sure you don’t lose all of your money. The casinos will try to take as much as they can.

A Brief History of Las Vegas

Las Vegas can be found in the western United States and is located in the state of Nevada. Las Vegas, Spanish for ‘The Meadows’, was originally discovered in 1829 by a party of explorers led by Antonio Armijo, a Mexican trader searching for a route to Los Angeles. Before the discovery of the valley the route, Las Vegas was referred to as the ‘journey of death’. However, exploration for water revealed an abundance of springs in the valley that reduced the journey by several days.

Las Vegas remained virtually unknown until 1844, when explorer John C. Fremont, made an entry in his travel log detailing how his expedition camped at the springs. Nevertheless, it was another ten years before Las Vegas became a permanent settlement for Mormon missionaries from Salt Lake City. They built a fort to create a mail stop between Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, becoming the first non-Indian settlement to do so. It was also the Mormons’ intention to teach farming to the Paiute Indians. However, in 1857 this was abandoned when the Paiutes raided the fort and rejected their teachings.

In 1902, U.S. Senator William Clark from Montana bought the rights to the Mormon settlement, along with water rights and 2,000 acres of land. It was his intention to develop a town and he managed to construct a railroad for steam locomotives.

The town was officially founded in 1905 and incorporated in 1911 with a population of only 800. Initially strict anti-gambling laws governed the state of Nevada but this all changed in 1931 when gambling was legalized throughout the state of Nevada. That same year divorce laws were liberalized in Nevada, making Las Vegas the place to obtain a divorce after only six weeks of residency.

It was after World War II that Las Vegas began to develop its reputation of ‘Sin City’. Hotels and casinos were developed and entertainment and tourism became the valley’s largest employer. Accordingly, by the 1960s wealthy businessmen were being attracted to the city. Billionaire Kirk Kerkorian was a major player in developing the modern city; he bought the Flamingo and in 1968 opened the biggest hotel in the world, the International Hotel.

Now, a hundred years after its conception, Las Vegas is one of the largest cities of the 20th Century with a population exceeding two million. Wonderful resorts are still being created, all bigger and more luxurious than ever. Finally, Las Vegas remains the strongest contender for the world’s major international tourist attraction.

Celebrity Real Estate – Nicholas Cage

Nicholas Cage owns properties all over the world. With homes in Rhode Island, Las Vegas, New Orleans, San Francisco, Los Angeles and overseas, Nicholas Cage seems to find fun in buying and selling properties. The latest sale, still on a hush hush level, is a home in Newport Beach, California.

Many celebrity watchers understand the reasons behind this latest home sale. The home of Nicholas Cage in Newport Beach, California was broken in to late last year. After finding the intruder in his home, Nicholas Cage rarely, if ever, stayed in the residence. The purchase price of the home has never been disclosed, but reports list the sale price as $35 million.

A celebrity was not the purchaser of the Nicholas Cage home in Las Vegas. The reported buyer was the owner of the Las Vegas powerhouse, Terrible Herbst. Terrible Herbst is an affluent business throughout the Las Vegas valley with everything from gas stations to casinos and restaurants on the business roll. One of the owners of Terrible Herbst is Edward Herbst, but reports do not list Edward Herbst as the buyer of the Newport Beach home.

Nicholas Cage will undoubtedly continue to purchase homes and then resell the homes for fun. When it comes to celebrity real estate clout, Nicholas Cage is at the apex of the business. With homes all over the United States and abroad, finding a place to stay is more of a guessing game than a decision for Cage. If ever Nicholas Cage finds himself out of work as an actor, he will have an easy move into a second career as a real estate agent.
