MTV Spring break is a dream of many students both in high school and college. The bad news is that not everyone gets to make that dream come true. The good news is that the trip can be affordable enough for even the most modest of students to be able to afford it. An MTV event can be one of the most exciting times of your life, and can make memories that will last a life time. If you want to catch MTV in Vegas, you will want to book your trip for March 6th through the 10th.

With that said, you can find deals that will keep more money in your pocket to gamble or buy drinks with.

You’ll have an opportunity to get up close and personal with famous people from all over, as they help to celebrate with MTV, Las Vegas, and you. You will also get a chance to see and do everything Vegas has to offer whether it’s Spring break or not, which says a lot. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

What to Expect During the MTV Spring Break

There will probably be a lot of commotion and mayhem going on during the week that MTV hosts the Las Vegas Spring break. It’s one of the most popular events of the year, worldwide! Keep in mind that people will be coming in from all around the world to celebrate the occasion, and many will be coming early and leaving late. This is a great time to make new friendships, and to meet new people you wouldn’t otherwise.

There are also theme rides, hiking adventures and sight seeing tours that might interest those who might want to spend some down time while in the area.

Las Vegas – Choosing a Hotel and Getting a 80% Discount

Great. Las Vegas. Sounds cool. Nice place to go, good hotels, casinos, the capital of fun, isn’t it? Good stuff, that could be a perfect place where to spend the weekend, don’t you think so?

Let’s take a look at the hotels offer that we have there, and then I’ll show you a trick on how to get the same hotels but with 80% discounted rates.

The offer is really tremendous but I have picked a selection of 3 hotels that you can find there. One of them is the Imperial Palace Hotel. As they keep saying, the possibilities there vary from stay, play, be entertained and eat. Each one an experience by itself, of course.

Two many kinds of room is what they have, so be prepared to choose between a simple and economic Capri Room (not bad at all I must say) and a Penthouse suite, which can grow up to more than 200$ the night. All rooms are well-equipped, with one King or two double beds, cable television, pay-per-view movies and Nintendo, telephone with voice-mail, etc.

Also the amount of services that the hotel offers is pretty wide, from a beauty salon to a business center, a medical center, shops, concierge and wireless service.

Walking to the competence, we can find the Riviera Hotel. This one has an original design made of three towers. The San Remo tower contains the Standard Rooms, while the Mediterranean and the Monte Carlo tower have inside the Superior and Deluxe class ones. King size beds here and there, the typical casino downstairs, wedding services, and of course plenty of shops, business center and a luxurious spa.

Tropicana is the last but not least. Their web-page is pretty well-built and the first thing you notice is that they offer the possibility to get flight and hotel packages, announced with big capital letters captivating your eyes. Checking their offers, I must agree it is not bad at all, so it deserves the over-sized letters. If they try to emphasize in anything, is in the super-low rates of their rooms, so let’s take a look if this is for real.

Apart of the prices, that vary between 69 and 99 dollars depending on the kind of accommodation you choose, don’t forget to take a look at the bed covers for the Garden Area Standard rooms! Simply tropical! I wonder if that gets lightened at night…

Certainly between the three of them the Palace Hotel seems to have more possibilities when it comes to type of room, and the range of budgets is pretty wide. In any case, it does seem to appeal more to the serious business life while Tropicana presents a more relaxed atmosphere. Riviera Hotel seems to offer a good intermediate between them, and the jacuzzi in the rooms is something I simply can’t stop thinking about…

Whatever, in the end what you are looking for is to get this hotels for an 80% discount, aren’t you? And of course, there is a way to do so by doing your everyday shopping from an online mall containing more than 1000 shops.

If you sum up to 50 dollars in purchases from their stores during one month, you automatically will get 3 days and 2 nights for 2 persons in a hotel that you can choose between 18 US cities. Extra costs, please? Yes, 53$ (about 26$ per person). Does not really look expensive…

Las Vegas Attractions – Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park

Every major tourist attraction city in America has some type of zoo or botanical garden facility. It’s a family-friendly and informative experience for people of all ages, and Las Vegas is no exception. Although Vegas’ zoo has a fancy name, the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park, it’s still a basic zoo and operates as a nonprofit organization.

With all the many casino resorts in Las Vegas, one might expect any zoo in the city to be a large, lavish piece of property with thousands of exotic animals from all over the globe. However, the Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park only covers a very small 3 acres and is a relatively small facility that mostly houses animals that can thrive in the dry climate.

From the outside, the zoo is very whimsical and even a bit outdated in terms of everything that surrounds it. The low faded walls are painted yellow and green, and the actual “Zoo” sign looks like something from a 1960s casino on The Strip. The inside of the facility is kept nicer, at least, and the animals are cared for by well-trained staff.

Since the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park is located in the desert, its primary goal is to inform people about desert life and the natural habitat, and to raise awareness about the protection of that habitat. It’s not as kid-friendly as zoos with zebras, giraffes and elephants, but the chimps and wild cats do manage to entertain.

Of course, everything in Vegas is a business. Even though the zoo is a nonprofit facility, all guests still have to pay an admission fee. And you’ll also find a gift shop in the zoo with an assortment of items, and even a gem exhibit area featuring some of the crystals from the area and other gems from around the world.

Animals in the zoo range from harmless to extremely dangerous. Guests of the zoo will have to watch out that they don’t step on one of the free-roaming peacocks around. Although they’re on the not dangerous list, they still have carte blanche in the zoo and get to walk where they want.

There are also a slew of snakes and other poisonous reptiles that are native to Nevada, including rattlesnakes and scorpions (not a reptile). There is also a family of Barbary Apes. This is the last family of this species in the entire country, and they’re kept pretty secure for their safety.

Other animals at the zoo include parrots, chimpanzees, and endangered cats like the panther, and also eagles, emus, ostriches, wallabies, pygmy goats, and more. In total, over 150 species of plants and animals are held at the zoo.

The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park is located in the heart of Vegas. It sits just northwest of The Strip and is a quick 15 minute drive in traffic.

Las Vegas Bus Tour – Traveling Around Las Vegas

People recognize Las Vegas as a brilliant place for site seeing, gambling, entertainments and a lot more. Because of these different events, people will really to spend much time to enjoy their stay here. Many available lodges will suit the travel objective of many tourists, whether they will traverse the downtown city or discover the nature on the borders. Below are some brilliant ideas to visit Las Vegas accordingly.

Tourists can enjoy traveling through helicopter ride to provide a perfect bird’s eye view on the entire area. Although unlike a Las Vegas bus tour, tourists cannot come closer to the beautiful sceneries around the places they see. Of course, for those who do not want to fly high, there are other options to travel Las Vegas. Still, riding a helicopter will give a quick glimpse on the entire area and every view that the whole region can offer the people. Another thing is that there are only limited people who can join the ride because you may not invite many people to ride on the helicopter.

To enjoy visiting the Grand Canyon, of course, tourists can take a Las Vegas bus tour and be able to take numerous pictures of the different sceneries surrounding the entire place. One good advantage is the bus can pick up the tourists directly from there accommodation places going through their destinations. This will give the whole family the thrill and excitement and they can go out to the canyon, play some outdoor games and a lot more. This is also inexpensive contrary to other travel routes.

There are also other adventures like the water based in Nevada that offer great excitement. These include jet skiing, river rafting or typical boat riding tour along the Colorado River. Tourists can also enjoy the horseback riding going to the canyon, or may travel riding a 4X4 off road vehicle to explore the other areas of the Grand Canyon. There are several choices for adventure in the canyon, just make sure to get the exact tour package to help in saving much cash on hand while enjoying the visit.

Las Vegas Deals and Vacation Thrills – Some Travel Positives in Tough Economic Times

Perhaps there was no other city that was hit harder than Las Vegas during the global economic crisis. Las Vegas had grown very rapidly before the real estate crash and then soon after Las Vegas was hit with a double whammy as travel slowed down to a trickle. Corporations stopped sending care employees to conferences and vacation retreats, while the entire hospitality, and travel industry to an economic hit. Luckily, Las Vegas is recovering nicely from the recession, and the Mayor of Las Vegas has gone on record asking tourists and travelers to come back.

This means that now is a great time to book a vacation in Vegas. There are a number of Las Vegas deals on time shares and condo rentals. A recent article in Budget Travel Magazine in the July-August issue of 2010 put forth a list of great things to do while in Vegas. If you stay in a Las Vegas timeshare, you can enjoy the Vegas strip, a Grand Canyon Tour and many of the great attractions at the New City Center which is now completed.

A Vegas condo rental may not be as expensive as you think, and you won’t have to worry about all the hustle and bustle of staying in a hotel casino. This way you can choose which casino you’d like to go to, what events and plays you’d like to see, and then relax after a day of activities in the privacy of your Vegas condo rental. Las Vegas is offering deals on shows, restaurants, and nightlife. Why not book a vacation in Vegas before things get out of control again and our economy returns to full force.

An article in the summer 2010 edition of the Sherman’s Travel Magazine in the “smart luxury section” explained just some of the deals that are going on at the major hotels for food, fun, and shows. There is probably no better time than right now to get in on these Las Vegas deals. Many seasoned travelers to Vegas recommend staying at a high-end resort in a timeshare or condo rental. Indeed, this makes a lot of sense to me, since I am from the greater Los Angeles area and go to Vegas quite often. Who knows maybe I’ll see you there during my next visit – so, I hope you will please consider all this.

The Resort Fee in Las Vegas Hotels: How to Avoid Paying It and Which Option Is Best for You

Apparently, the main complaint from tourists when they are in Sin City, besides the huge amount of smoke pretty much everywhere (with the exception of the top-quality places such as Venetian and Palazzo, Bellagio and so on), is the this mandatory additional, fixed charge imposed by many establishment and off the Strip. You may want to find out how to avoid paying this additional cost altogether (read below to find out), but before that let’s see what it is exactly and let’s work out if avoiding it is actually the best thing for you and for your pocket.

What is it: it is an additional charge (on top of your room rate and taxes) which is meant to cover the establishment’ facilities and services, which include the use of the gym (or fitness centre, or exercise room), the use of the spa (Jacuzzi, Saunas, Steam Rooms), local phone calls, daily newspapers to the room and other services (each establishment may have all of these, fewer or more). The principle behind this is that, since every guest is going to use some if not all of those facilities and services, rather than paying for the individually they are all combined together in a single cost.

The Price: The cost ranges from around five to fifteen dollars. It is added to the advertised rate at check-in. All Vegas establishments state how much this additional fixed charge is but it often is in the fine print of their rate page or special offer page. If in doubt, just pick up the phone and ask them; we do it all the time to be absolutely sure of what we are going to pay, since we like to keep to our allocated budget.

It is often the case that the more facilities and services an establishment offers within that charge, the better quality of these facilities and services. For example: there are places which will charge 5 dollars overall, but, in some cases, that charge covers basic services and facilities, such as the use of a very basic, almost unusable fitness room (as opposed to a well-equipped gym). It is therefore important to find out, before you book, what is actually offered and what those services and facilities actually are. We are avid users of the gym when we are in Vegas (partly to burn the extra calories we accumulate by eating at Las Vegas buffets every single day of our stay!) so we call each time before we book to confirm what type of fitness facilities are included, what their opening hours are, whether it’s just a cardio room or if it is a fully-equipped gym, and so forth (each hotel may change their policy on this additional charge and on what’s included almost overnight, so it’s always advisable to check). You will be surprised at the differences; just because an establishment states that they have fitness facilities included in this charge, it does not necessarily mean that those facilities are actually good. At the same time, just because they don’t charge this cost, it does not mean that you will not end up paying it anyway (more on this later).

So, how to avoid paying this charge?

There are mainly two ways to avoid paying it:
to book a place which does not charge it (but beware of the drawbacks, as we’ll explain further on)
to book a special players card offer; sometimes special package offers (say ’3 nights for the overall price of 99dollars’, and so on) are additional-charge-free and, even better, they are tax-free (what we mean is that the advertised package price is all inclusive of any charge, so there are no surprises at check out). Every time you are about to book a room or suite, no matter what package it is or from what special offer, always read the fine print and, if in doubt, ask them over the phone.

We like to choose accommodation based on how good the rooms or suites are, how good their customer service is, how good their casino is, the facilities they provide (gym, spa, pool and so on) and the quality of their buffet. We do not like to limit ourselves to the establishments which don’t apply the additional charge often because there is always a ‘catch’; more on this further on). So, we will select special offers and packages which, overall, are convenient and a good deal without sacrificing the quality of the stay. As per the best price overall, bear in mind that one place may be additional-charge-free, but the overall deal may be not so good (for example, they may not offer you buffet deals or they may not offer you free-play).

What’s the catch of when an establishment does not charge this additional cost?

The majority of the establishments in Sin City which apply NO additional charge actually offer worse services. By that I mean mainly worse fitness and spa facilities and with restricted opening hours. This is mostly the case with the Caesars’ Entertainment establishments (former Harrah’s group): they have the most limited fitness and spa services in terms of opening hours and quality. Some of their pools and pool areas are also quite ‘deficient’. On the other hand, some which do charge an additional cost, have amazing facilities and services and in the end you will be more than happy that you have paid it; you may not care for the gym (unlike us), but you will probably enjoy a better pool area! Finally, some of the MGM group establishments (the newest ones, such as Cosmopolitan) are also additional-charge-free but you will be hit by expensive prices if you opt to use their services after all.

So, if you plan to avoid using any of the facilities or services and you are staying in one of these additional-charge-free establishments, make sure you truly do not use these services because, if you do, you will be disappointed and, above all, you will be hit by a huge charge (fitness and spa facilities are ridiculously expensive if you pay for them separately and, as already said, some of those services are not good).

Off-Strip establishments which do not apply this additional charge can still offer services and facilities but of course, understandably, they may be limited in quality and variety (though not always), though they are often available for longer hours during the day, often closing later at night. We like that! One of the best off-strip places with no additional charges but offering decent services (such as fitness facilities) is El Cortez, situated downtown (but this establishment is very affordable in every aspect, actually, whilst clean and nice, so it’s a great deal if you are on a budget).

So, in summary: before you book, make a list of the facilities and services you are likely to want to use (phone calls, gym, spa, rest areas, etc) and find out how much they are separately. Do the math, work out which ones you are likely to use and which ones you are not and then decide which accommodation establishment is best for you. Some places (such as Gold Coast) have a very low additional charge so it becomes almost a non-issue. But, admittedly, some have a high additional charge, in which case working out what’s best for you, what’s offered, what quality accommodation you will have, what customer service will receive and so on, will be worth-while endeavours before you book your stay.

Catch N.1 – Caesar’s Entertainment establishments (Paris Las Vegas, Bally’s, Rio All-Suite, Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Planet Hollywood and Harrah’s), do not impose the above-mentioned additional charge attached to a room reservation. However, if you book over the phone, they will charge you a ridiculous $11.20 ‘processing cost’ (as if they were the only ones with telephone assistance in the world), which tops and exceeds many of the establishments’ additional charge. So, if you can, avoid booking over the phone because, unfortunately, they do not inform their phone customers of this processing cost, quite deceptively we could say. This ridiculous processing cost is waived for high rollers and certain ‘VIP’ members and it is also waived for seniors. Make sure you ask before you book (before you even tell them your name or total rewards card number).

Catch N. 2 – Some of the no-extra-charge establishments actually offer no facilities that would warrant any additional charge or, if they do, they are sub-standard (in our opinion). Some of them will even ‘hit’ you with other charges, such as the Caesars Entertainment (former Harrah’s Group) ‘booking processing cost’ (as explained in the earlier paragraphs of this page). Others, such as Four Season, are so expensive overall that applying a few dollars to their over-the-top nightly rate would be insignificant. Moreover, as already explained in the previous paragraphs, if you then decide to use one of their facilities, you may be disappointed by their limited opening times and/or how expensive they actually are if paid for separately. So, make sure you ask as much information as you can and don’t chal bad about doing so, otherwise you will be either disappointed or will simply end up paying more than you would have by just paying the additional charge!

Off-The-Strip Las Vegas Hotels

If you are planning a trip to Sin City, you should definitely consider going to their off the strip hotels. Not only will you still enjoy your time in Las Vegas you will also save your money. The strip is in fact Las Vegas Boulevard and is one of the most well known streets in the world. However, you can choose quite a few hotels from off the strip. The buildings in the off strip area are now renovated and every hotel has its own flair of gambling. Each hotel represents the gambling but they just wish to present it in their own way.

Over the decades, the city of Las Vegas went through a massive change. Starting from the mega hotels with the impressive casinos and bright dazzling lights to the latest technology and method of entertainment, Las Vegas hotels have it all.

Off the strip, the old school Vegas where the serious gamblers who have a fixed budget are available. As the Sin City is famous for gambling, the table limits in the off the strip are in the lower area and there is a large number of slot machines and video poker. You can most likely find more nickel slot machines in off the strip areas than any other location.

Located off the strip, these hotels may cheaper than the strip but do not let the word “cheap” fool you. Cheap means that they are trying to attract the most customers by giving the lowest price for the best service. By looking for a motel off strip, you can find up with some genuinely good deals. Places like Sam’s Town are located within 10 miles of the strip but offer you the advantage of saving your money.

A problem you may have to face would be locating the hotel off the strip. The map may show that the hotel is located near the strip, but in fact, it is at a distance that you had not imagined. You may give a second thought to walking in this area at night alone since it becomes a bit sordid. Therefore, hire a cab and travel in this part of the city with safety. If you like a party environment then downtown is the place for you. The best part is, if you want to visit the strip, all you need to do is hire yourself a cab and simply go.

Even though location is not the only factor that influences your selection of Las Vegas hotels, it can still be the most important one. You can save as much money as you want without having to compromise on your services if you plan your trip carefully. The Fremont Street off the strip is loaded with casinos that one might even recognize from the movies. The famous Four Queens and The Golden Nugget are located on this very street. These do not only cost less, but also they provide you the utmost comfort and accommodate you well enough to satisfy you.

The price starts from $60 and reach up to $300 in the off the strip areas. Names such as the Americana 5, Best Western Mardi Gras Hotel & Casino, Americas Best Value Inn Tropicana, Super 8 Motel Koval Lane, Wild Wild West Gambling Hall & Hotel, and Americas Best Value Inn Lake Mead are amongst the very popular Las Vegas hotels off the strip. Other hotels, situated near the downtown or airport, can range from the price of $50 up to more than a $1000.

The Las Vegas hotels not on the strip never fail to provide you with the best food in town. Even though the Strip is more famous for having the best cuisines in the world, the off the strip Las Vegas hotels are not that far behind either. Presenting the best their abilities and rates let you, off the strip Las Vegas hotels are quite a catch. The city that never sleeps is a full package of entertainment whether it is on the Strip or off the strip.

Jamaican Nightlife and a Nudist’s Paradise

If you are looking for some really natural Jamaican nightlife, head for Hedonism II at the tip of Negril beach, one of the most popular beach resorts. Just when you are wondering, brace up! Hedonism II is a nudist paradise where being in your barest is sort of accepted. But it is not a nudists-only resort and there are some rules that tourists have to follow. You can walk past the nude rooms in your barest and also in the nude pool and beach.

Topless women are permitted elsewhere, but not in the prude zones. During Toga night on Thursdays, you can dine in the nude and on the Pajama nights on Tuesdays you can dance away nude in the disco. Get naked and experience the sea breeze on the nude beach. It is said the most difficult thing is getting out of your clothes at the nude Hedo beach, but the hardest thing is putting them back on.

It is so infectious being able to experience nature upfront in you naturals. Friendly tub dips in the nude can begin as late as 2am and continue till the wee hours. It can get raunchy, but not difficult to ward off friendly or suggestive sexual undertones.

For women, there is some easing of rules and they can cover up with a sarong in nude beaches if they want. If men see you nude then they usually don’t hassle when you are dressed up. But women can wear their bottoms as they say if they wish. There is an unwritten law that keeps the nude beach nude without hassles. It is expected to be in the buff at nude beaches as it is expected to be properly dressed in the prude zones.

Hedo is the place to be natural, but not where you let out your basic instincts. It is good to be in the nude and both women and men don’t sort of inspire any sexual reaction. Breakfast may see a few men with bare chests but women are not fully topless except on those special days of Jamaican nightlife.
